Women appear to have collectively decided (finally!) that we are absolutely done with men and the BS we have had to put up with for centuries. It has taken way too long for us to reach this point.
We are using both our voices and our free will to show what we will and will not accept. We are calling out men and choosing celibacy over disrespect and/or abuse. We are choosing Sisterhood over romantic relationships, and supporting each other. We are showing that we are more than capable of doing all the things men can and many things that they can’t.
We are choosing to fight for our rights as human beings, for ALL human beings not just those for women. We are spending our money with small businesses owned and operated by women, POC, LGBTQ+, and allies. We are walking away from relationships with people who see us as less than human; at best we are considered pets, at worst we are property. The 4B movement is gaining popularity (No heterosexual marriage, no hetero relationships, no hetero sex, and no producing children ~ called the 4B movement due to its origins in Korea, and the Korean words for these ‘rules’ all start with the letter B).
We will not be silenced and returned to the roles that men and the Patriarchy have assigned to us. We have sacred rage, matches, and the will to burn it all down.
We are not here for male entertainment or enjoyment. We are not here to be sexually assaulted, raped, or murdered because men were never taught to control their urges or emotions. We are not here to do all the work in relationships, burning ourselves out while men respond only with anger and abuse. (When we say that we want men to express their emotions, we don’t mean for them to get angry and punch holes in walls ~ we mean we want them to put in the hard work to heal and grow so that they can express their feelings in safe and appropriate ways).
We are here to find a better way for everyone; a world where the colour of your skin, place of your birth, gender, sexuality, or any other form of discriminatory label is no longer an issue. We want all human beings to be treated with respect and dignity, things which should be automatically given already but sadly are not.
We want a world that is safe for all humans, that treats our planet with the respect our home deserves. This is what we are fighting for, what we will achieve by working together to change things.
Until the day comes when we have built that world, men are going to have to step up and grow up. Men are being left behind, stuck in their entitled thoughts and misogynistic ways. Even the good, decent men run the risk of being left behind, because until every man is safe for women to be around, no man is safe for us to be around. There is no quick and easy way for us to know which men are dangerous and which men are not, so to protect ourselves we have become extremely cautious.
Women will continue to choose the bear. Men will continue to be confused and angry about us choosing the bear. When so many men choose hatred, violence, and abuse over respect and love, women will choose to walk away from them and create their own communities and their own futures.
Women are done with the misogynistic bullshit, and we don’t care who knows it.
